What are Widgets and how to use in a WordPress blog

Once you just create a blog that you can be disturbed by certain default entries that appear in the side columns. These are the result of widgets. Widgets are small pieces of code that allow for you specific functions such as tracking tags you use, the posts recent recent comments, blogrolls, metatags, calendar entries etc. This is not important. What is important is what widgets you need and why.

You will find in your dashboard blog access to widgets on the appearance tab. When you click you will see entries into two parts. The Centre will the world of widgets and on the right - in a grey background - spaces in the blog where you can use.

All that we have to do is decide which pre-built widgets we must use and drag and drop in available spaces. Once this is done, we can get a little adventurous and stick in some widgets text also available spaces. These text widgets can be filled with the html code that we copy and paste in different places.
