10 Pointers on starting a Blog.

Almost every day, we seem to be confronted with a reference of blogs and the blogosphere, and many people were taken into account from a blog, but is largely ignorant of the field.

In addition to blogs increasing your ranking search engine, they also provide a promotional vehicle for the promotion of your organization or deal with any topic of interest. Blogs can simply be fun cathartique, functional or any. Here are a few pointers on starting a blog.

1. Start by evaluating the blog software.

Blog software varies greatly. I recommend Wordpress on the other major competitor in the field Blogger, because it offers more sophisticated options and opportunities.

2. If possible, incorporate the software on your website instead of using a host off-site.

This allows you to maintain complete control over your blog and build a more robust web site. You should get the step by step instructions your host of the web site to allow the installation. If this problem has become, it is permitted to use the host off-site.

WordPress offers two options to Wordpress.com and Wordpress.org (web site) (off site host).

3. Select a template for your blog.

Templates provide the layout for the structure of your blog. On the dashboard of Wordpress, you can click on "Appearance", and you'll see an option for models. You're not locked in once you choose a template because Wordpress provides a feature to display your blog and all its entries in other models as well. If you prefer the new model, it is easy you just click on "activate" link to change the appearance of your entire blog.

4. Choose widgets for your side column.

"widgets" refers to the functional elements appearing in the permanent structure of your blog. They can include links to other blogs (blogroll), a calendar, a search function, etc. Some models provide two separate columns for widgets, some only. You will see the option "widgets" under the appearance heading on your blog dashboard.

5 Determine the author (s) and the frequency of your blog entries.

Blogs offer the greatest flexibility. For example, if you want to have multiple authors, you can title of the blog, "thoughts of [my company]."

In addition, it is allowed if you are unable to blog every day. You can start with a weekly schedule and, yet again, title your blog as a result. For example, "this week in [any industry]."

6. Writing your entries, adopt a tone appropriate for a blog.

Blogs are essentially online newspapers. Entries should be easy to understand, too technical step and include certain emotions or passion on any subject they deal with.

7 If necessary, add photos to your blog entries.

Discuss a serious policy or a technical question, photos make your blog more attractive display for readers and can even be used to inject a measure of humor into your entry.

There is an icon in your blog display area with an image of a screen. Just click on this icon and add any photo from your hard disk (several web sites on the Internet offered rights free images, you can download).

8. After about 15-20 entries, you should make your blog to blog search engines.

Blog search engines include blogcatalog.com, blogflux.com, getblogs.com, globeofblogs.com and technorati.com.

9 Create an RSS feed for your blog.

RSS feeds are usually indicated by an orange square icon with white bows on it. They allow visitors to subscribe to your blog and receive new entries without return to check the URL of your blog all the time. Please note that the URL of RSS feed of your blog is different from the URL for the blog itself.

10 Doublecheck of the "ping" your blog and add more if necessary Ping services.

A ping is similar to an RSS feed except not to transfer data when he warned people about new entries to your blog. "ping-o-matic" is the default service for hosted WordPress version, but in the version of site web your business, you can add more Ping services more.

Obviously, you want to ping as many sites as possible when you add a new entry. (For education, you should visit the section help WordPress on Ping services.)
