Blog or no Blog? This is the Question

When I started my career on-line, I was confronted with an important issue, the same as that you face yourself already. Or, are facing we are talking about!

Should I put my site as a blog? Or as a "normal"?

I knew at the time, but it really is a false distinction. A blog can really be designed to the same appearance as a traditional site, there just much, much of the positive advantages over a traditional html, xml, or Web site based on css. In fact, any website that you are now right may be based on the blogging software, and you didn't know same. Even a site like cnn.com could be implemented as a blog. The greatest thing that I retained to do, it is immediately simply fear and believe me, please don't be that you retain. The learning curve honestly is not that steep. If you start wrong however, you can and will lose some time. I myself am probably lost 2-3 weeks, a value of work by not doing so from the outset. Here are the 5 key benefits in my opinion.

Design change and functionality with a click of a button. Not knowing css when I created my original site, when I have a style or a model of change which has affected several or all the pages, I would make the change individually, on every single page. And I had to go in the encoding of the html code. Yuck! With the blogging software, you can go and make changes to all of the site, or to the appearance or functionality, with a click of a button. Awesome!

Add functions of high technology without knowing any programming. It's another big WOW. You can do really cool, enough complicated things just by adding in "widgets" to your blog. It features that create some smart programmers, and you let just your blog and use. Very practical.

Have a community of smart people to help you to. With the blogging software, you can use out of the efforts of others without having to be a programmer or technical yourself and usually without pay. Or, you can get themes and widgets that are just plug-and-play, but very professional, at a very reasonable price.

Search Engine (SEO) friendly. By adding a plug-in called "all in one seo", and by setting a few options up there, your blog will be search engine friendly. Of course, you always want to refresh seo basics and to good market research and keyword research, but much technical elements will be supported for you. In addition, as google search engines simply love blogs, as long as you post frequently (at least once a week or more) and constantly.

Construction of the community. If you're fascinated by what you are blogging about and provide good information, people will follow you. By encouraging people to comment and participate, you can foster ongoing discussions to help each of learn us more efficiently than you alone. This is a great way to make new friends at the same time! And there are a number of means quick and easy for you to strongly encourage participation.
I hope that you now see the tremendous advantage that using blog software to configure your site really has. Even if you already have a site now, you can convert a blog quite easily. But, if you start any just, it is certainly preferable to start as a blog from the beginning. And most importantly, it is free to do!

And the last two quick tips: I highly recommend using wordpress. It is the most popular (if it has the most support and resources) and more functional. You can use the best! If you have your hosting with a place like godaddy, you can have your blog set in place a few minutes. And finally, buy your own domain name and add your blog to it. Use simply a free site to configure your blog. This way, you have much more control over it.

You can view my series how To blog for a lot of useful information and specific practical videos describing in detail all aspects of setting up your own blog. This includes: get a domain and hosting, getting wordpress set up, change your theme, adding functionality through widgets, a list of widgets to use, make your blog SEO-friendly, monetize your blog and build a community around your blog.
